Advice From a Loving Friend About Marriage Versus Advice From a Foolish Friend
Here are a few of my mess ups
I have been that foolish friend too many times.
I’ve given friends some unkind and rash advice about the problems in their marriages or relationships.
I can’t say I’m proud of these mistakes.
A friend I had since childhood called me from her home 900 miles away. She was heartbroken. She was looking for someone to talk to.
She told me her husband was screwing around.
He even slept with some of her friends!
How low can you go?
“Divorce his ass,” I yelled!
She said she was not going to jump into divorce right away. They’d been married about 15 years at that time.
They went to counseling.
She wanted to save her marriage and found it in her heart to forgive him.
They are still together 30 years later.
Ugh…..
Fortunately, we are still friends.
