After years of my oldest daughter’s drug addiction and the mess it made of my family and life when my husband started drinking after 27 years of marriage I couldn’t take it. 2 years later after 29 years and a lot of threats to leave I divorced him. I’d been through the darkest days with my daughter still on the streets and I couldn’t live that life again. We almost reconciled 6 years and 3 DUIs after we split. I believe God intervened on my behalf and got him out of my life. He left me and came back but he was drinking again and I found out he had a girlfriend all along. So many lies culminated in his 4th DUI. He cut me and the 4 kids out of his life and after his jail sentence he moved in with her. I wrote about all this. I’m happy to hear your dad made it and you loved him. My kids don’t feel the same at all. And I dodged a bullet that would have struck me in the heart had I remarried him. Great story Darren.
