At Least No One Died When I Poisoned My Entire Family at a Christmas Party

They will never let me forget!

I always had to throw parties in my family. I had parties for everything. My parent’s 50th anniversary. My sister’s and brother-in-law’s 25th anniversary.

After funerals and graduations.

Only me.

I tried “punishing” everyone and stopped having parties for a while but it drove me crazy.

We needed to celebrate more often and it was up to me.

One year I decided to gather the extended family on my dad’s side. He had 2 living siblings and their families that lived close by. My aunts, uncles, cousins, and their children. My brother was visiting from Minnesota in December so I decided to have a Christmas party.

Altogether 30 adults and children came to the gathering.

I served a bunch of food including roast beef sandwiches. I had 2 crockpots full of pulled beef and everyone helped themselves.

We had a blast.

We showed old family movies that featured my grandparents, long gone, and almost everyone who was at the party. Many of us were babies in the movies.

This family rarely got together so the evening was full of joyful conversation and reminiscing.

We all parted in good moods and feeling the spirit of the season!

The next morning my husband, who never missed a day of work, was too sick to go.

He had nausea, vomiting, and severe diarrhea.

Soon, the calls started coming. My aunt called to say she and my uncle were sick and was everyone else OK?

Umm…no. I guess not.

Several cousins called. My parents. My sister and her 2 daughters.

My children were all sick.

My youngest daughter had gone home with my oldest daughter to spend the night and I told her she better make it to school the next day or she would be in big trouble.

She went to school sick. They called and asked me to come and get her.
