Because black people are black and easily identifiable. If you are black it is very difficult to deny it. It is very difficult for others not to see it. Yes, I have read about some black people as "passing". But, on the whole, no badge or star or whatever is needed to identify a black person.

I have friends that are Jewish and they have blond hair and blue eyes and they are not of a certain race. I know the stereotypical depiction of a Jewish person is not blond or blue-eyed. I have seen the posters from back then.

Could the Holocaust have been about both race and religion? A sick hatred born of true evil?

Whoopi is predominantly a good and kind person and not known for racist remarks or tendencies. She's intelligent. She deserves a break in my humble opinion.
