Because everyone knew my ex was an alcoholic and had hurt me immensely they didn’t console me during my divorce. I guess they thought I was lucky to be getting out of such a mess. But I was still heartbroken and needed some understanding. It was more like good riddance, you’re so lucky to be rid of him. Not true. We had 29 years of marriage and 27 were very good. And we had a wonderful love at one time. Let’s not forget that all divorces hurt. Lend an ear to that person you know who seems relieved to be single again because deep-inside they are losing a part of themselves as well.
