Depending who I say it to it means something different. Also the setting you are in. There are many situations where saying I love you flows out of my mouth with true abandon. I have not had that for almost a decade. Other times I love you is automatic, like when I say goodbye on the phone to family members. I think I love you has many different forms and uses.
