Good thing kids are resilient. I think I spoiled mine and they can be such brats! While my friend that screamed and yelled and threatened has these successful, nice kids. I don’t know the answer but that was obviously a very frazzled mother! How upsetting for you to witness after your abusive childhood. But a good story to pass on.
