I asked on Facebook if there was anyone good at flooring my two small bathrooms. I heard from about 5 people. I chose one. He messaged me and seemed real nice. He came by on a Saturday morning to give me an estimate. $400 labor for the two small bathrooms. And I would buy all the materials. He talked me into getting plank flooring. He said it was the newest thing and looked cool. We went to Lowes together and he loaded up my cart. We went through the cashier line, I handed over my credit card, and he took all the stuff in his truck back to my house.

Are you already seeing a big DUMB sign on my forehead?

However, he did end up back at my house and he had another guy with him. “This is my cousin. He’s going to help me.” Then he wanted $200 up front which I gave him. Next thing I know the boss is leaving. He has to take his brother for chemo. What? But…..? See ya!

The cousin, I’ll call him Barney, didn’t have a clue of what he was doing. I went up to check on him and he had laid all the planks next to each other full size. He didn’t stagger them like the directions said that my 6 year old grand daughter could have read and understood. I texted the boss. He said he couldn’t do anything about it since he wasn’t there to see…
