He wouldn't be taking care of you per se. You would be combining salaries and bills and households, so there's bound to be more money for both of you, but you will still have your own. Look at it that way. You may never need someone to "take care of you," but you may need someone to partner with for the better of both of you. You will not be dependent on a man.
