She says she’s just too tired to fight anymore

She Cried

My daughter spoke to her doctor on the phone in her room at the nursing home. He told her what has to be done before she can have surgery to remove the abscess on her lower spinal cord. It will take time and hard work on her part.

She wants to be fixed right now, right away. This minute. But her body cannot tolerate a surgery like that until she gets much better. She has MRSA (methicillin-resistant staph aureus) in many places in her body and removing this mass will not help if they don’t get the rest of it under control. And her heart has to be checked to see if she needs surgery to repair her valves.

She Has a History of Endocarditis With Vegetation on Her Valves

People who use illegal drugs by injecting them are at a greater risk of endocarditis. The needles used to inject drugs can be contaminated with the bacteria that can cause endocarditis.

In endocarditis, clumps made of germs and cell pieces form an abnormal mass in your heart. These clumps, called vegetations, can break loose and travel to your brain, lungs, abdominal organs, kidneys, or arms and legs.
