Hi Lara. Thank you for your insight. Her nephew's mother is her sister who she never got along with. I did come right out and remind her what my family has said about me causing my daughter to turn to drugs. She said it wasn't the same. She says her sister is a "drunk" and uses drugs, too. I reminded her that her sister is not responsible for her 30-year-old son's behavior. Also, her sister's husband just died. That's traumatic and was also her son's father. IDK. I get tired of defending myself after all these years.

I suppose I may sound jealous. Sometimes I'm sure I am.

Your last paragraph is well said. It's very true that luck often plays the biggest part in how things go in someone's life. But some lucky people take credit for being so good and perfect and that's why things have gone their way. One time one of my friend's sisters was talking to me and said, "Didn't Debbie hit the husband lottery?" Yes, she did!
