How sad. One thing I won’t let go of is my money! I’ve seen too many older, poor people, scammed by their own families let alone a romance. But, a little dementia goes a long way in being easily convinced by these jokers. That’s a big problem because none of us want to admit we may be slipping a bit in the memory department. Some family members will actually gaslight their grandmas to get them to cough up money. They make false promises of taking care of them, use their money up, then disappear.
But this is an accurate symptom of loneliness, especially in times of COVID. People alone are vulnerable because they need companionship.
Thanks for the heads up. I hope a lot of women read this because I don’t think men are getting scammed as easily.
