I can't imagine how you felt. Were you the only kid like that in your class? Her mom could have driven her to your house and seen how lovely your place was instead of just saying no. You've come a long way and no wonder you can stay at the places you stay at. I would be very uncomfortable in those environments, but you adapt easily. And have great fun!
