I didn't use a pen name but when I first wrote about my daughter missing I used a different name for her sake. Then ,it just stuck. Now I'm glad because I write some sensitive material about my life, as well. I would never mention a name or include a picture if I thought it would hurt or upset someone. But some stories, if read by the person, might be recognizable by them.
