I have a similar story from when I tried to replace my first perfect dog. Finally, my new husky became part of the family but never the same as #1. When he was gone I learned I could not "replace" him but needed to get used to a new personality. I adopted an amazing dog. They are all adorable in their own way but will never fit in the mold we want for that "perfect" dog. Loved the story.
