I have ghosted several guys from Match.com, and I think it's just part of the online dating process. At times guys, I wanted to ghost never called me again either. But, in a long-time relationship, to be ghosted is extremely painful. I'm sorry it was at such a young age you were hurt. God probably helped you dodge a bullet because he was not the right guy for you. That's easy for me to say now, I know :-(
