I imagine that smell was quite nasty! I hate to say it but I'm glad I'm not the only one. This along with forgetting to put my cup under the Keurig is making me feel I need to be evaluated.
Back in 1974 when we used regular baby bottles with rubber nipples I "sterilized" them in a pan on the stove. I was on the phone in my bedroom until I smelled this horrid odor. I realized those nipples were boiling on the stove. They were melted and black by the time I grabbed the whole pan and threw it out the door. That smell hung around for weeks. I bet your nasty egg smell did too.
