I learned how kids don’t want your stuff by cleaning out my mothers house. I sold, donated, or gave half the stuff away I’m sure she thought we would want. Since I have moved twice in the past few years I have gotten rid of everything. I saved a dresser of my great grandmothers and a sideboard of my great aunts. Otherwise I know my kids don’t want any of it. It’s sad but why let them put it in a garage sale when I could pass it on to someone or give it away to a friend or someone who I’ll never know what happens to it after that. It makes me feel better about it. One practice that could really help a lot of us is to go to the salvation Army or the Goodwill. Walk around. Look at all the stuff there. The old souvenirs, vases, and knickknacks. That’s where your stuff will be. I don’t buy anything like that anymore. I can see you haunting your boys, Ruby!
