I left Al-Anon because I was tired of one or two women with alcoholic husbands or Drug addicted husbands, and they talked about themselves and their challenges the whole time. I'm not real social either, but when a couple of people command the floor every meeting, it gets annoying. I wanted to find a meeting that had leads like AA. Not in my area. So I stopped. I took flak from a few but did not tell them why I stopped coming. I felt I might be selfish. Do you think I got burned out after Al-Anon many years with a drug addcited daughter and an alcoholic husband? I started to feel like I was sick, not them. I commend you for finding a way to keep yourself in tune with your sponsor, and bless her heart for thinking outside the box.

I write about my experiences in life. Some mundane, some sad, some funny, and hopefully none boring!
