I live in the US and maybe because I'm older I have never been expected to go 50/50 with any man I've dated.
Sometimes I'll offer to leave the tip and occasionally that is allowed but usually not. I have been told it embarrasses my date if I try to pay.
I love this arrangement no matter how much money I might have!
