I may not have been as adamant as my sister if they had called me a bitch but don't mess with my mom! You are right about advocacy and that was something I liked about that place. There are AL's and then there are AL's. In the USA with us Baby Boomers all growing old together there will be a demand for qualified help and facilities to care for us. If you are on Medicaid you will not get the attention the people paying $5-$6,000/month will get. Your girl will never look far for a job if she likes working with the elderly. They keep us alive longer but don't guarantee a quality of life to go with it. I'm learning to live for today and enjoy each one. I saw some very cheerful people where my mom lived but she was not one of them most of the time. After my dad died she wanted to go too. Even at 90 she was quite healthy. She died from lonliness and isolation due to COVID.

I write about my experiences in life. Some mundane, some sad, some funny, and hopefully none boring!
