I moved a year ago, and the road noise was one of the biggest reasons. I had a beautiful condo I only lived in for 19 months and could not sleep in my master bedroom because the road out front was so noisy. I tried everything. My neighbors had soundproof dark panels installed across the windows in front. UGLY! It was not possible to watch TV with the front windows open.

I like my window open at night and it was impossible to sleep. The speed limit was 35 but cars, motorcycles, and trucks were zooming by at 50 mph and hitting the edge of a bridge right out front which increased the noise. I gave the place up at a personal price to my social and love life to move to a quiet area of peace and quiet and you know what? The BP meds I was on got reduced, and my BP has been so much lower that my doctor will have me experiment with stopping the meds! I never associated it with road noise so this was very informative.
