I never play the lottery, but I have read about these stats you name, and it's a mystery to me how that happens. But what would I know unless it happened to me? This year, my daughter, who buys tickets all the time, won $10,000 on a scratch-off...some of those cost $30 a ticket. I wouldn't dream of spending that.
