I recall one of the doctors being upset because we did not have his patient ready for surgery. I touched his shoulder and said we were almost done and he jerked away from me like I had stabbed him with a pickax or had cooties. I was so embarrassed and will not speak to him to this day. He will pass by me and smile and I won't even look at him. I doubt he recalls what he did but I won't forget it. What harm did I do him?? It was not sexual but a very soft, calming type of touch. That's often why we don't touch each other. Fear of rejection or embarrassment. I learned that day.
