I remember learning as a kid that all the money in the USA was backed by gold at Fort Knox. Was I just hearing that wrong? I know it's not the same today but as I grew up I did not pay much attention to what was happening economically. Now, I'm retired. I'm lucky enough to be able to buy into a LifePlan community. Otherwise, I'm afraid I would be out on the street before I'm 70. This problem is killing the elderly who have become our new poor citizens.
