I Swear My Friend Likes To Kick Me When I’m Down
And she knows how sick my daughter is
This picture reminds me of one of my “FRIENDS” 🤬.
I continue to call her my friend because we are both 67 and have been friends since high school. I like to think she doesn’t realize how inconsiderate she sounds when she rubs her “Oh, so perfect” life in my face. She knows I’m going through a particularly hard, stressful time right now.
There was a time in her life when she was down on her luck. She had very little money, 2 little girls, and a cheating, low-life, husband. When we went to her wedding my husband and I wondered why she was marrying that jerk. She was sweet, kind, and very pretty.
A few years later she divorced the loser. He lived with his girlfriend whose brother is a registered sex offender. He hung out around her girls when they visited their dad. She went to court. The judge said too bad. The dad had the right to see his daughters. I knew one of the city prosecutors and he found a way to stop visitation. The dad had to get his own place and the sex offender couldn’t come around. My friend did thank me for that one.
I listened to all her struggles with money, her ex, her job and her loneliness.
