I was a very healthy child, probably because we ate all fresh or frozen vegetables, had our own meat, and rarely had pop or candy. But, as you say, none of us eat like that anymore because it's unavailable for most of us. I take magnesium, but sometimes it bothers my gut. I agree we need it as a supplement, though.
