DATING/RELATIONSHIPS
I Was Love-Bombed for Sex and Was Too Dumb to Realize
I ignored every red flag
It took me two years after my divorce to feel I could date.
The first man I wanted to go out with was an important executive physician where I worked. He was distinguished and classy.
He always wore an expensive suit with a tie and cufflinks that looked like they were a gift from the Queen of England.
He could be on the cover of GQ.
He had traveled to a country I wanted to visit so when I saw him in the hall I asked him about it.
There was a spark.
He was twice divorced and single.
His authoritative position where I worked made him exciting and desirable.
We ended up meeting at a restaurant for a drink late one night after I finished work.
I considered him a god. He was a man I knew of forever: a trusted and popular surgeon. I never dreamed I would get attention from him.
But, here I was. He ordered the $125 bottle of wine we both liked. White and dry.
Perfect. Off to a great start.
