I'll always be happy I was able to spend so much time with my parents before they passed away. That way, I have no regrets now, but I punished myself for not seeing my mom more often for a while. COVID kept us away from her, and she died in 2020. I believe the loneliness it created contributed to her death. Once one parent dies, you have to focus on the other parent because they feel like a limb has been removed.
