I'm not comparing it at all. I'm pointing out the protocols have to be the same for all weapon incidents. They all have to be taken seriously. Had they followed protocol in the Michigan school shootings, those dead children would be alive today. The shootings would not have happened if rules had been followed. The shooter's locker would have been searched and the loaded gun would have been found before he could go on his shooting rampage. Not only that but the parents were supposed to take him home and they refused. That was breaking the weapon protocol for the school he attended as well. Just as my granddaughter had to leave the school right then and there. (They did a really crappy thing turning her out that way though.)

If you read what I wrote at the end you would see I felt the same as you. Why such a big deal when my sweet, innocent, granddaughter just made a little mistake. But, she, herself, knew the gravity of it. She felt bad that other students may have felt in danger. There are plenty of school stabbings you can Google. These kids are scared at school in a way I never even dreamed of when I was a student.

Did you read the story I attached at the bottom? That's what changed my mind to take it much more seriously. In honor of any parent who lost a child to such senselessness.

Read it all and you will see. If not, it's your opinion, and you are entitled to it.
