I'm sure my mom never told my dad because then she would have to reveal how my uncle was harassing her. I understand now, but at the time, I wondered, WTF? I soon learned how disposable I was when my parents made me get married and have a baby against my sobbing, tearful requests not to have to do that. They wanted a grandchild, and my dreams meant nothing. I was 18.
