In Ray and Moth's case, they would never see these people again. And look how they were treated when considered homeless. I think their lie was needed. But when it comes to family or friends you need to watch what you fudge on. Moms usually read it all over their kid's faces. No one likes to be lied to. Honesty is the best policy but you don't have to tell all you know. They did not have to tell anyone about their situation. They are so friendly!
