In the 80s, I was groped plenty by several doctors. One grabbed me at the back elevators and kissed me. I was so shocked I just stood there. He jumped on the elevator and was gone. He knew I'd never say a word. You didn't do that back then. Nowadays, I would have reported that. One doctor was so horrible in surgery to so many nurses he told a pregnant one he hoped her baby died. He kept this up for years, and they wrote grievances that were ignored until they banded together and lodged a complaint. THEY won a settlement, but all had to leave their jobs, and he got to stay. It was a case of "the good old boys" against a bunch of women. Finally, and this was 20 years later, they fired him. Management put off believing all those nurses for years until they banded together. It was ugly. And other nurses, who heard this harassment, backed him up. Rat finks. I did not personally enter a lawsuit, but I commended them for standing up. They had a hard time finding work, too. They had a reputation for "complaining." It was all wrong on the lowest of morals. I do not know how much money they got, but none of them were driving Mercedes after that, like him. Funny, I saw him at UPS the other day; he looked old and ratty. He didn't have the right stuff he needed to send his package, and I braced myself for his onslaught of yelling. But he just picked his stuff up and left. They lose in the end but not until you are belittled, and you better respect yourself enough to ignore the idiots. What happened after that, Pam? Was she herded out? He never had to admit to harassing her? I do not like that guy at all!!
