It does sound romantic in a way, doesn't it? I can see how easy it can be to become co-dependent. In a way, I think my parents were. They did everything together and everyone thought that was so great. But, was it? After my dad died my mom tried really hard to die, too. We were sure she woud. Then, she came alive and lived 10 more miserable years. It's a complicated affliction.
