It is predominantly the woman who ends up raising the child. If the father changes his mind? She has a child. If the father meets another woman who doesn't want that child from before? The mother has a child. If the father dies? The mother has a child.

I don't have a solid opinion and mostly because it is so controversial. It does affect my daughters and I have been that woman with 3 little girls whose dad decided he didn't want to be a dad anymore. What happened? I had 3 little girls to raise and they all have daddy issues now. There is just no real answer that is cut and dry. Unless some real documented proof comes along I will always believe the woman ends up with the child as her responsibility. There are no guarantees for her if the man changes his mind down the road about raising the child. If all men were like you Robert, it would be great. Unfortunately, they aren't or they change their minds later.
