It was a hilarious halftime show! As the cheerleaders we used to "perform" to make halftime go faster, but we hated it (at least I did). I want everyone to know I was the tallest and most athletic girl in my small Catholic school class. I was always chosen to pick a team, and I was loyal. I chose my friends first and tried to include the little girls who never got picked until last. I was very empathetic. Then, as an adult, my husband and I had a group of friends that alternated cookouts, and we would often have volleyball games. I became the last one to get picked all the time! I don't think I was that bad! And even as an adult, it hurt a little. I doubt they still do teams that way in gym class now that we want all our children to feel like winners. I'm too old to know if it's working—great article on an interesting subject.
