It will be one year next month. I don't like spending money with no equity to show for it, but I do like the security of a future where no one has to take responsibility for me. It's a trade-off with no knowledge of what will happen. I hope I die before I ever get moved from here to assisted living :-)

Except for the problems with my personal life (and they could have happened anyway), I enjoy this place very much. It's a tight community, and I can always get help if I need it. My kids will get less money when I die but they also won't be saddled with me when I'm old.
