Joan, you have been through a lot. It's unimaginable to me what you went through with your husband. I am 67 and at 61 I thought I was still pretty HOT!!

I am certainly the youngest looking, if not the youngest person, here. I don't care. I am happy for the first time in a long time. The peace of knowing I will care for all my life is priceless. The assisted living facility is 5 miles from where I am so we don't get any meals or anything. They do provide 4 special events a year and now I have been invited on to the Social Committee. Once a month we plan something. Every day there is something to do here. I haven't participated much but I will when I get organized.

The cool thing for you and me is we can carry on our outside social life with younger friends and family. My 19-year-old granddaughter has visited (I am 3 minutes from her college) and she loves it. She stops to take a nap between classes! It's like living in a 55 and older community only with many more perks! There are very few rules and regulations here. They provide 24-hour security service. I'm glad you found a good place to be after what you experienced. Saddle embolism is often deadly and by the grace of God, here you are. I wish you lived in my community!

I write about my experiences in life. Some mundane, some sad, some funny, and hopefully none boring!
