My daughter, who has been on some illegal drug for 29 years, was clean for ten years. I never thought she would return to that life; sadly, she did and is still there. I always applauded her for having those 12 steps down pat. She stopped smoking, too, using her knowledge and conviction for AA knowledge. I sure wish drugs and alcohol were not as powerful as they are. It's sinister and evil. Glad to hear about your gambling and success.
