My Daughter May Have Just Gotten a Death Sentence

I should not have gotten my hopes up

2003: My daughter age 29 with my grandaughter, her first baby. She had been using cocaine when she found out she was pregnant. She went to rehab but the baby still had been exposed. My granddaughter was full term and weighed only #5. She was watched closely but developed normally and is very motivated, and smart.

Many of you have been following along as I write about my daughter. I’ll include the links below if anyone wants to catch up on the story. She has been addicted to drugs for a long time. She was missing for 9 days around Christmas, 12/18–12/27. We finally found her in a hospital ICU with COVID and sepsis from a massive MRSA (methicillin Resistant Staph Aureus) infection throughout her body. This is a chronic infection she’s had for the last 3 years. At least she was alive. We had started to think the worst.
