Many of you have been following along as I write about my daughter. I’ll include the links below if anyone wants to catch up on the story. She has been addicted to drugs for a long time. She was missing for 9 days around Christmas, 12/18–12/27. We finally found her in a hospital ICU with COVID and sepsis from a massive MRSA (methicillin Resistant Staph Aureus) infection throughout her body. This is a chronic infection she’s had for the last 3 years. At least she was alive. We had started to think the worst.

Transfer to a Nursing Home
She’s been in a wheelchair since being transferred to a nursing home January 6th. She needs IV antibiotic treatment and Physical Therapy. She has chronic MRSA from using a dirty needle. Much of the infection is in her spine. She’s had surgery before to drain several abscesses. She is in Physical Therapy to help her ambulate. Her legs are weak from the spinal infection.
In the past few weeks she has been really sick. Loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, headaches, and a lot of pain in her hips and legs.
We All Had Our Hopes Up
In my last article about her early childhood I said I had high hopes for her. I believed this time she would leave the nursing home and go to rehab. She started out pretty positive. Now she’s been miserable since last week. The pain is so bad she’s getting a Fentanyl patch. That’s not something addicts are usually given. I believe they think she’s hopeless at this point so they just try to make her comfortable.
Her Doctors Are Giving Up
