My ex asked for nothing he felt so guilty splitting us up with his alcohol addiction. I was so fortunate because he had nothing and I would have struggled on my income at the time. I did get an inheritance from my parents and I thought about splitting that with my ex but when the time came to talk about it (we were planning to reunite but he could not stay sober long enough) he got himself a girlfriend who he could manipulate and I kept every penny. I believe he is basically penniless to this day and is now in jail until the end of April. Did I dodge a bullet not remarrying him? Probably, for many reasons. But, I will always love him.
