My mom was in assisted living for 5 years. She had dementia but not so bad she couldn't tell us what was going on. We busted a few aides for rudeness at first and they all got fired. The place was expensive and the care was predominantly good. We found the staff we loved and they watched out for our mom. The best was when one aide told my mom she had to take a shower because her bitch daughter complained she wasn't getting them. Talking about my sister! My mom told my sister. Hell hath no wrath like my pissed-off sister. Trust me that one got fired on the spot even though she denied it. My mom was not lying. Many of the aides think they can get away with stuff because no one believes people with dementia. That's not true. They know what's going on much of the time.
