My parents were good parents but surprisingly they did not come to most of our school activities and we didn't think anything of it. My dad was a farmer so he was busy in the evenings because he worked construction during the day. We didn't think a lot of it.

It is all so different now. I tried to make it to every one of my kid's games, concerts, plays, and whatever.

I imagine it was tough for you to see kids heartbroken over some of these transgressions. Being a librarian had to be better.
