One of my daughters did this last year. To her horror, the 6-year-old decided to hit the 1-year-old on the head with a toy for crying so much! My daughter panicked and took him to an ER. Fearing her 5-year-old would be in a psych ward she told them the baby fell. They didn't believe her and called the police. That's when she called me. Too late. The 5-year-old blurted out she did it and my daughter got busted in a lie and told too much and before she knew it she was charged with child endangering for leaving the kids in the car even though she could see it from the office window. She had to get an attorney and was treated like a criminal. She was acquitted $10,000 later. BTW...the baby was fine. I could have assessed that and saved her all the hassle had she called me earlier. So, see how shit can get thrown out of proportion??
