One of my daughters gained 100lbs during her 6 years of college. She grew right before my eyes. From 150lbs to 250lbs. She never lost it and she's 42 now. She says her doctors won't listen to her because she's "fat" (her words). She feels body shamed all the time. She says everyone thinks she lays around, never exercises, and eats all the time. That's not true. She does yoga, plays tennis, and walks her dogs daily. Twice as much exercise as me. She just doesn't lose weight. My heart aches for her knowing how she feels about herself inside. On the outside she has a great job, a nice husband, and does all kinds of activities I wouldn't dream of because I'm way lazier. But, I'm thin by nature and I take it for granted. Probably most body shamers are the same.
