Please Help Me Figure Out How to Handle Money in Kenya

My brother and I are not getting good information

Has anyone been to Kenya?

My brother and I are leaving Sunday, and we can’t get ACCURATE information on handling our money in Kenya.

Do we need a lot of Kenyan shillings?

Will they take American dollars in most places?

Can credit cards be used in most areas?

Can tips be in American dollars, or do Kenyans have difficulty exchanging them?

Does one American dollar equal about 118 Kenyan shillings? I’m checking online, but I’m not good with .00083.

I figure many of you live there or have lived there or have been there and know way more than I can find out searching online.

I would appreciate any and all advice and information.
