She pulled out and thought she was OK but then drove really slow when she hit the ice and he came up behind her. He knew the roads were icy but had no choice but to brake and that's when his car spun out and hit her left bumper but not like a usual "hit from behind" accident. It was a bigger mess that I realized all those years ago. He was cited for "failure to control his vehicle" and I wish I never wrote the story because my son is still not speaking to me for bringing it up and asking him a few questions :-(
