Story Nerd: From beginning to end, all I kept thinking was COOPERSTOWN...Did you ever get there? You of all people belong there during induction week. My husband did the sound for that event every year, and my son got to go with him for the weekend. That boy had autographs from so many great players. Only kids 12 and under could go in and talk with the players there and get their personal cards and coins.He may still have Bob Fellers card and coin, but he foolishly sold most of his memorabilia to buy guitars and equipment. He is not the fan you were or are. I had to laugh throughout. The beer and cheese for the foul ball was too much. Then the All-Star tickets? Magical. I did feel sad to think your father lived only four more months. He was such a gregarious man. Too bad for the Angels, but I only ever cared about the Indians! And, I NEVER got to go to Cooperstown after my husband and son went 8x!
