I worked as a nurse in ICU. If we had a patient like my daughter, with no visitors and no family around for so many days, we would have called someone. Especially in the condition she was in and at Christmas when almost all patients have a visitor. My name and number are all over her Information sheets. I'm her healthcare POA and she was in the same hospital system that had a copy scanned into her records 3 years ago. The social worker found me pretty quickly when it was time to move my daughter to a nursing home.

My granddaughter's face on Christmas when she told me she had not been able to contact her mom since the 18th was a sad sight to see and broke my heart.

Well, it's over now and here we are on this crazy journey again.
